Redneck Fun In the Snow!!!!!

When I heard the news that it was going to snow, I began my venture texting everyone I knew, assuring that it was for real this time. Not like all the other times, getting just sleet and a flurry only to be let down again and all hope of getting snow that year, lost!! I was so excited that all I could do was watch the weather and keep everyone posted. It had been a long time since I had seen it snow real good and that was when I was six. (I'm 42 now) Then it came...It started to snow late evening and my nephew was the only one that would entertain me. He had never really seen snow and he was almost as excited as I was, so we were a pair. We laughed and played around, as teenagers do (lol..he's 15), built snowbabies and talked to friends and family via text, or sent pics of our own little world. It was like Christmas morning, truly a gift from God. As the evening progressed, the snow came down harder, and soon I had made my first snowman ever!! But then I realized he needed a face. I didn't have any coal and all I could find to bring out his eyes was choc. fudge and his nose made of a carrot. Couldn't find a scarf, so my camo jacket would have to do. I finished him up with my grandson's BB gun. I thought he was just adorable, and others that drove by him would stop in passing to snap a shot of him. And so he became "Our Little Redneck Snowman". We built another and another, but they just were not the same. He was the first, and so craftily and joyfully made that we need not spend too much time on the others or we'd lose time we could use doing other things. Before long, it was early morning and we were tired (because we stayed up all night and played in the snow and just enjoyed the beauty of it), but we didn't want to go to sleep for we knew that it would probably all be gone when we woke, as if it were just a dream. By this time, though my husband was very much alert and two of our grandchildren were over, our oldest son and his wife. Another of our sons got a wild idea that he wanted to go sledding. Now I wasn't sure how he thought he was going to pull this one off or where he was going to do it, but he was determined, so he went and got the hydra-slide out of the garage and I thought to myself, "what kind of redneck stuff is this"?! At this point I decided to go my merry may and let him go his. Then, as I was coming back from the corner store taking pics along the way, my husband runs up to the truck all excited and we were off down the road. We approached the hi-way and I realized there was my family laughing and carrying on as they were sledding off the Hwy 96 By-Pass in Silsbee, TX!!!! It looked so exciting, that I decided to do it myself. It was a BLAST!!!! And this is my story...it was the best, most quality, simple but crafty, joyful and spontaneous time we ever had!!!! So then it was "Our Redneck Fun In the Snow!!!!
