This picture was taken on our 4-wheeler at the end of our driveway. Ike was generous enough to produce a small pond across our 4 acres of land. All we have to do now is stock it with bass, catfish and a filtration system. As we compare Ike to Rita, the damage done in our specific area was much more tolerable. Once again, the sound of chainsaws and generators fill the air. Many more people were prepared for this hurricane and I believe it will benefit in a much faster, stronger reconstruction of this community. Our anticipation for electricity, hot showers, and cold drinks will only make us grateful for the days we get them back.

This is unbelievable! What a great picture and story! Yes, it is days like this that make us grateful for the simple things in life, so easy to take for granted. All of the people helping thier neighbors is an indicator that WE can overcome! Peace!
