My son is in the Army- 82nd Airborne. He brought his dog to us in May while on leave. We really became attached to this goofy dog. Mon June 23rd, I had to take the daschund to the emergency vet where she almost died. When I got back Hosier was missing. I spent 7 hours driving around looking for him. I had friends and family out looking for him all week every day. We have put up over 400 flyers, posters, gone door to door and checked all the area shelters, vets and pounds. We have talked to many concerned people, listened to people with similar stories- most with sad endings. We have endured a few false leads that created a soaring hope only to have it sink back to despair, but it was nice to have those moments of hope. While we have always been cautious about personal information, we have been publishing phone numbers and freely giving out information to anyone we meet. We tell Hosier stories to anyone who will stand still long enough to listen hoping to convince them that even though we lost him we really do love him, want him back and will take care of him. We have seen the best of people and the worst. I have received phone calls from people who have lost their pets and just want to wish me luck and calls from people who have found mine and only want the money to "ship" him home--- oh yeah and expenses for his care. We have created a MySpace for him to get his message out and are encouraging everyone to look at it. Someone has Hosier, and someone knows these people. We know he's a good dog, and we just want him back. I feel like we have let my son down and that is a difficult feeling. We are offering a reward and hope someone will do the right thing.
