Having a baby is supposed to be a joyous occasion. After 9 months of anticipation, the day you have waited for will arrive. Most of the time, you don’t know what to expect. Even the most prepared family will sometimes end up on a path that they had not prepared for.
This might happen during pregnancy, during the birth, or in the early postpartum period. What is supposed to be an exciting and joyous occasion can quickly turn into a series of scary and invasive procedures that remove the intimacy of the birthing experience.
If you have had such an experience, you may be wondering, “What do I do now? Who can I talk to? Who will understand?” No matter how difficult or traumatic an experience may have been, there is always hope, and always someone who understands.
Join us for Healing Birth: A Sisterhood of Survivors on may 5th at 6pm at the barking dog coffee lounge. Join us for conversation, support, and an atmosphere of understanding. The barking dog coffee lounge is located at 493 Pearl Street in downtown Beaumont. For more information, call 409-790-6010, or 409-344-3054.
