DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Dale Earnhardt Junior is off to a
good start with his new team, winning the Budweiser Shootout in
dominating fashion.
In his new Hendrick Motorsports ride, he powered past Tony
Stewart with two laps to go and then held on for his first win
against Cup drivers and cars since early 2006.
After taking the checkered flag, Earnhardt spun his new white
Number-88 Chevrolet into a flurry of victory doughnuts before
heading to Victory Lane.
It's "Little E's" 11th victory at Daytona International
Speedway but his first since a Nationwide Series win in June of
2006.
Stewart finished second in his exhibition race and two-time
defending Cup champion Jimmie Johnson was third.
