STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Willie Rueda and Chris Hall each drove
in four runs as Texas Tech rallied from an eight-run deficit today
to beat Oklahoma State 12-10.
Hall drew a bases-loaded walk in the ninth inning from Cowboys
closer Jordy Mercer (0-2) to give the Red Raiders a 10-8 lead, and
Rueda and Joey Kenworthy followed with an RBI singles.
Neil Medchill hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth,
and Oklahoma State had the tying run at the plate before Thomas
Belza grounded into a double play.
The Cowboys led 8-0 after a five-run fourth inning against Texas
Tech starter Nathan Karns, but Hall and Rueda led the Red Raiders
right back.
Hall had an RBI single and Rueda a two-run double in the fifth
inning, and Hall's two-run single in the sixth got Tech within 8-6.
Roger Kieschnick's two-run home run tied the game, and Rueda
gave Tech its first lead with an RBI single in the eighth.
James Leverton (2-3) got the final four outs to pick up the win.
