AUSTIN (AP) - A former Texas football player and another athlete
suspended last year pleaded guilty today in Austin -- to robbery.
Safety Robert Joseph and defensive tackle Andre Jones each
pleaded guilty to a felony charge of robbery.
Each could get up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Probation is also an option.
Sentencing is July 14th.
Joseph was kicked off the team last year after his arrest on a
separate burglary charge in June.
He and Jones were arrested in connection with a July 2007 home
invasion that also allegedly involved running back and safety James
Henry.
Henry was indicted for knowingly destroying or concealing stolen
items.
Prosecutor Buddy Meyer says Henry hasn't entered a plea but
faces a July 18th court appearance.
Henry and Jones were suspended last year.
A spokesman for the UT athletic department didn't immediately
comment.
