OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Russell Moldenhauer had four hits and four
RBIs to lead Texas past Kansas State 15-7 today in the Big 12
championship game.
The Longhorns locked up the 50th NCAA tournament in school
history. Kansas State was seeking its first NCAA berth.
Seventh-seeded Kansas State sneaked into the conference
tournament by sweeping rival Kansas in the final three-game series
of the regular season.
Moldenhauer singled twice and doubled twice to lead a 19-hit
attack for Texas, which won its third Big 12 tournament title.
Texas reliever Austin Wood put and end to Kansas State's
five-run fifth inning that trimmed a 9-1 deficit. Wood retired 10
straight batters.
