Buffaloes hold off Aggies for men's title

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Brent Vaughn captured his third
5,000-meter crown and James Begley won the discus, helping Colorado
to its first men's outdoor title in 61 years at the Big 12 Track
and Field Championships today in Colorado.
The Buffaloes toppled Texas A&M by 17 points, finishing with
138. The Aggies entered the meet as the top-ranked team in the
country.
The Texas A&M women won their second straight title, once again
edging out Nebraska. The Aggies ended up with 157 points while the
Cornhuskers, who entered the day with a 33½-point advantage,
finished 52 points behind.
