SWAT Team Ends Standoff With Man Accused of Stabbing 1-Week-Old Son

Bryan Rupp

It was a dramatic end to what police are calling an unbelievable act. A Sugarland man accused of stabbing his own one-week-old son had to be dragged out by SWAT team members after barricading himself in his apartment.

The stand-off ended when SWAT members moved in after three hours of failed negotiations.

Authorities say he had serious self inflicted stab wounds.

The man is a former English teacher in Fort Bend County, recently put on leave for sexual assault of a child.

His wife took their son to the hospital with stab wounds to his neck and chest.

The child is in critical condition tonight.

Thats whats wrong with america. We just lock up these sick bast--ds and take better care of them than we can ourselves. If we would EXTERMINATE them like roaches America would be a safer place. To hell with cruel and unusual punishment. Call the middle east countries and see how they'd deal with him!

herb how can you say it was a week old and can be replaced in less than 10 months. The baby is a gift of God and no matter how old, can not be replaced. No matter the age this should not have happened to an innocent child.

It was a week old. It can be replaced in less than 10 months. No big loss. I mean, if it was 4 or 5 years old, then we'd have a problem.
