Oak Tree Older Than the Union Comes Crashing Down

The tree stood for almost four centuries, but it came crashing down Saturday, September 12 in Lake Arthur, Louisiana.

It's an old oak tree that has been the backdrop for many portraits, picnics and family reunions, a real part of the area's history.

Estimates indicate it will take months to clean up.

They are still trying to decide what they are going to do with what is left of the oak tree.
