Flag Burning Plagues Dallas Neighborhood

News KBMT
Bryan Rupp

Many homeowners are flying flags in anticipation of the Independence Holiday on Saturday, July 4, 2009.

But someone in Ed Jordan's North Dallas neighborhood is doing the unthinkable by burning flags.

The 70-year-old former Marine put up both the American flag and the Marine flag and both were burned right along with the flags of several of his neighbors.

Dallas police are investigating the cases as arson.

To think that the military active and inactive protect the rights of these people, as if they deserved it. Many soldiers and sailors have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country, their life. Are we failing to teach our children the respect once taught to us. I am a veteran of the United States Army, Vietnam Era. Cowards don't show their faces, only their ignorance.
