HOUSTON (AP) - Former Texas Gov. Mark White has been hired by a Houston-based Internet provider to oversee the expansion of wireless Internet access to rural America.
Internet America Inc., said Tuesday that White will help maximize public private partnerships as the special counsel on rural broadband development. White's job will involve bringing broadband wireless Internet service to underserved areas of the country.
The Houston attorney served as governor of Texas from 1983-1987 and is best known for leading educational reforms in an under-performing state school system.
