WEATHERFORD, Texas (AP) - Grief counselors are at two Weatherford schools Monday after two children and their stepfather
died in a two-vehicle weekend crash.

Officials say 43-year-old Eric Meyer, 12-year-old Joshua Pierson and 11-year-od Nicholas Pierson died when their sport-utility vehicle slammed head-on into a tractor-trailer rig.

The crash happened about 3:30 p.m. on Texas 171 just north of Godley in Johnson County. That's 24 miles southwest of Fort Worth and 25 miles southeast of Weatherford.

Weatherford school district officials say Joshua was a seventh-grader at Tison Middle School in Weatherford, while Nicholas was a fifth-grader at Mary Martin Elementary School.

A school district spokesman says the boys' mother, Candy Meyer, was treated for minor injuries and released from Harris Methodist Fort Worth hospital.
