Governor Perry Wants $60 Million For Movie Production

News KBMT

The state of Texas wants to continue being a top choice for movie makers, and it's willing to put its money where its mouth is as Governor Rick Perry is proposing $60 million in incentives for the entertainment industry in the coming two-year state budget as part of his job creation effort.

The governor joined producers, actors and others who make television shows and movies Wednesday, March 4, 2009 in Austin for a rally.

Governor Perry says too many movie productions have moved to other states like New Mexico and Louisiana, and he wants Texas to get that business back.

Bills filed in the state legislature would allow Texas to be more competitive in the movie-making and video game production industry.
