Man crashes truck into Lufkin hospital office

LUFKIN, Texas (AP) - A man who had been escorted out of a hospital office building was arrested after authorities say he came back and rammed his pickup truck through a plate glass window next to the Memorial Health System of East Texas emergency room.

Thirty-year-old Juan Pablo Perez was being held in the Angelina County Jail Monday night on a charge of felony criminal mischief. A jail spokeswoman did not know if he had an attorney.

Police said in a news release that Perez drove his truck into an office at the Temple Imaging Center at the hospital after becoming belligerent while seeking treatment and being escorted out of the office.

Hospital spokeswoman Yana Olgetree said the office was under construction and two workers there were not injured.

Kenneth Hadnot, a hospital security guard, said in Monday's online edition of The Lufkin Daily News that Perez ran away from the hospital and called 911 to have police come and get him.
