SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) - A jury in San Marcos today decided a man should serve 14 life prison terms for biting, whipping and starving his three children.
The maximum sentences for 24-year-old Cesar Mojica Carmona will run concurrently.
He's also been fined $140,000.
Mojica Carmona was convicted of 14 felony counts of injury to a child -- on his four-year-old daughter and three-year-old twins, a boy and a girl.
Authorities seized the children from the home Mojica Carmona shared with Sara Amaya, their mother, in October 2006.
Abuse charges against Amaya are pending.
Doctors testified the abuse and malnourishment left the children severely developmentally delayed.
The three victims and a sibling born after the parents were arrested -- now live with a foster family that plans to adopt the four children.
