2-Year-Old Dead After SUV Backs Into Him

One Nederland community is trying to come to grips with the sad reality that a 2-year-old boy has died after an accident in the driveway of his home.

It happened around noon Saturday, November 14. Police say the driver in a Ford expedition backed over the child in the driveway at the home in the 100 block of Nederland Avenue.

The 2-year-old who's name has not been released died at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

Officers say the driver of the sport utility vehicle was a family friend.

Witnesses told a 12 News staff member that the family had recently moved into the home.

A 2-year-old boy has died from injuries he received when a car backed into him in Nederland around noon Saturday.

It happened on a private driveway on the 100 block of Nederland Avenue.

Police say the boy died at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

Officers say the driver of the car was either a friend or a family member.

No names have been released.

My thoughts and prayers are with this family. I cannot imagine losing a child and hope that God gives them the strength they need to overcome their grief.
