Orange County Death Under Investigation

No signs of foul play

David Ingram

Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Friday morning.

Just after 6:30 a.m. 911 dispatchers received a call of a deceased man at 12281 North Highway 62 in Mauriceville. Deputies have identified the man as Shane Leon Miller, 45, of Mauriceville. A news release from the sheriff’s office says Mr. Miller was found this morning by his girlfriend in his residence.

Orange County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Janice Menard pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Judge Menard ordered an investigation and Mr. Miller’s body was taken to the Jefferson County Morgue.

Deputies say at this time there does not appear to be any signs of foul play. More information will be available once the autopsy has been performed.
