Man Charged With Sending Nude Photos To Jasper County Child

A Newton County man is in the Jasper County Jail after deputies say he sent nude pictures of himself to a young girl.

Jasper County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Richard Simmons, 24, charging him with sending explicit photos of himself to a 12-year-old victim. Deputies arrested Simmons after he allegedly set up a meeting with the girl at Evadale High School. Lawmen met him as he arrived at the campus and took him into custody.

Simmons was arraigned today before Jasper County Pct. 6 Justice of the Peace Judge Steve Connor. He was formally charged with online solicitation. The charge is a second-degree felony.

Simmons remains behind bars in lieu of a half-million dollar bond.
