Thousands of SETexans Attend Job Fair

For the month of September unemployment in Texas was 8.3 percent and in the Golden Triangle it was 10.8 percent.

As unemployment rates continue to rise, Southeast Texas companies are stepping in to help locals find jobs.

12 News Shane Doyle stopped by the Beaumont Civic Center for a job fair where the unemployed are inquiring about available jobs.

The job fair ends at 3p.m. on Thursday.

I was a employer who is seeking for people who were interest for clerical work..and I had receive about 300 apps that we will screen thru and start calling for interview soon..so I think ya'll probably was looking at the wrong places or didn't bother ...

No doubt, this was a big waste of the tax payers money. The workforce commission should have used the money they spent on this elsewhere. Imagine the pay roll for the workforce employee's we saw standing around just to tell us "This is exit only, go around to the other side" WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY

Interviews on the spot!!! Yea right! The interview rooms were used to file out Aps and the drug testing area was empty.

This job fair was THE biggest joke. The majority of the booths were trade schools trying to get you to come to their school. There were no clerical or any type of "business" jobs available. As a matter of fact there were no jobs there that even required the use of a computer. This was more of a trade job fair. I wasted 3 hours of my time. Back to the drawing board Beaumont.
