Grand Jury Underway in Laday Death Investigation

Bryan Rupp

Witnesses are taking the stand testifying to a grand jury in the Kevin Laday death investigation.

Laday, 35, died in April after a struggle with Lumberton police.

The protest seen in the attached video was led by the New Black Panthers last May.

Laday's mother Sandra has said she believes her son was beaten to death by officers.

The grand jury can call for the indictment of the officers involved or find that there's not enough evidence to indict. Another potential outcome is to investigate the case further.
