Sunny & Warm Today, Rain Sunday/Monday

Meteorologist Patrick Vaughn

A few more great days weather-wise until rain enters the forecast by the second-half of the weekend...

We've seen five sunny days across Southeast Texas with pleasant temperatures and low humidity and today the string will go to six straight.  High pressure continues to dominate our area's weather.  This will again provide sunny skies, low humidity and pleasant temperatures.  Afternoon highs will warm into the upper-seventies.  Winds will be northeasterly.  No rainfall is forecasted.

Tonight, clear skies are forecasted with the possibility of patchy fog.  Morning lows will cool into the lower-fifties in the Triangle to the upper-forties in the Lakes Area.  Winds will be easterly.  No rainfall is forecasted.

Friday, another sunny day is forecasted with again, low humidity.  Afternoon highs will warm to near-eighty.  Winds will be east-to-southeasterly.  No rainfall is forecasted.

By Saturday, deeper Gulf of Mexico moisture is forecasted to begin moving into Southeast Texas.  High pressure aloft will move east as a an upper-level disturbance moves into Western Texas.  Partly cloudy skies are forecasted with highs in the middle-to-upper-seventies after a low near-fifty-three.  Winds will be east-to-southeasterly.  No rainfall is forecasted.

Sunday, skies will become mostly cloudy as the upper-level disturbance begins to move into Southeast Texas.  About half of the are will receive rainfall.  After a morning low near-sixty, afternoon highs will warm into the middle-seventies with east-to-southeasterly winds.  Chance of rain is fifty-percent.

Monday, deep moisture, the upper-level disturbance and a cold front will be working into the area which will provide for high chances of rainfall.  Cloudy skies are forecasted.  After a low in the middle-fifties, afternoon highs will rise to the middle-sixties.  North-to-northeasterly winds are forecasted.  Chance of rain is seventy-percent.

Tuesday, the cold front will sweep through Southeast Texas.  Breezy northerly winds will begin to push the moisture out into the Gulf of Mexico as a drier air mass moves in.  After a low in the middle-fifties, afternoon high temperatures will warm into the middle-sixties.  Chance of rain is thirty-percent.

Wednesday, Southeast Texas will see improving weather as a drier air mass filters into the area.  Partly cloudy skies are expected certainly by the afternoon.  Morning low temperatures will drop into the lower-fifties with afternoon highs warming into the lower-seventies.
