Officials Hope to Announce the Creation of 500 to 700 New Jobs

Bryan Rupp

Port Arthur Economic Development Corporation (EDC) CEO Floyd Batiste tells 12 News a company, whose name is not yet announced, is considering opening a call center in Port Arthur.

The EDC is carrying out an employment survey for the company in hopes of demonstrating our area has the workforce needed to launch a call center. The company is expected to make an announcement later this month if it likes what it sees in the survey.

Do you really think you can get 500 to 700 Pt. Arthur folks that aren't already working to start new jobs. With all the construction work going on in the area right now, if they don't already have a job they don't want one. It's too easy for them to live off government entitlements. No waking up early. No responsibility. No drug screens. Hell, they got it made. Just live off honest, hard working folks and become career thugs, punks, and criminals.
