Beaumont's Purchase of New Patrol Cars to Cost More Than $570,000

Beaumont City Council approved the purchase of 23 new patrol cars on Tuesday.

The price tag on the cars $570,333.

The cars will be purchased from Philpott Motors in Nederland.

The new vehicles will be 2010 Ford Crown Victorias that will include a safe stop vehicle anti theft system allowing an officer to leave the vehicle running while disabling it from being moved by anyone else other than the officer.

What a wonderful idea! Just think of the extra tax dollars we could get rid of by leaving the vehicles running and spending more on fuel. Not to mention what effect on the atmosphere this could do if, all government vehicles were left running!!!!!! Just A Thought
