Port Arthur Child Recovering Following Auto-Pedestrian Accident

A Port Arthur child, 4, is recovering following an auto-pedestrian accident Friday afternoon.

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Lombardy. Neighbors say a maroon Chrysler truck struck the child as he tried to cross the road.

The child was taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

A spokesperson for the Port Arthur Fire Department tells 12 News the child suffered an open fracture wound to the leg.
