A Splendora, Texas resident said she found a rose petal with the figure of Jesus on it at a hospital. Jennifer Batton is a nurse at a local hospital and said she was cleaning the room of an elderly female patient who had died.

She said there were some roses on the bedside table, but one petal caught her eye.

She said she was seconds from throwing it away, but noticed something peculiar.

"It felt like something just came over me to look at it," said Batton. "I didn't want to believe what I saw because I'd never seen anything like it."

She says the figure embedded in the petal resembles Jesus on a crucifix.

When put up to the light, one can observe details of a man's face and ribs.

"Honestly, you think this is far-fetched and this is not real," said her husband, Heath Batton. "But I saw it and I was blown away."

The Battons believe the petal is a sign of hope and healing.

Heath Batton was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year when doctors found a large tumor in his jaw.

He is now going through chemotherapy.

Jennifer says she's giving Heath the rose petal in hopes it will strengthen him.

"I wanted to give it to him," said Jennifer. "Maybe that gives him faith to keep fighting."
"It's kind of like that song George Strait sings, 'I Saw God Today,'" said Heath. "You know he's laying signs around us all the time and we may not see them, but other people might pick up on it. This right here is unbelievable."

The Battons keep the petal in a clear glass baseball card case on their mantle.

"God will tell us what to do with it," said Heath.
