Future Comfort Suites Hotel Burned

A 4-story hotel being built in Orange erupted in flames on Friday, July 10, 2009. Passers by can see the destruction as at one point witnesses said flames shot up nine feet during the fire.

It happened at the future "Comfort Suites" site on Interstate 10 and Texas-62 around 4:30p.m.

About 20 firefighters from McLewis, Pinehurst and Orange fire departments worked together to put the fire out.

Only one side of the building was damaged.

Local officials told KBMT 12 News ABC/NBC that there were construction workers on the scene when the fire erupted. Those people are being interviewed to see how the fire may have started.

No injuries were reported in relation to this incident.
