Mom Turns in Own Son For Burglary

News KBMT
Bryan Rupp

A teenage burglary suspect was among three people busted in an upscale Beaumont neighborhood on the evening of Wednesday, July 8, 2009.

Detectives questioned a teenager, who lived in Barrington Heights, after they said his mother accused him of stealing electronic equipment from another neighborhood.

Two adults were taken into custody and the teenager was released.

Detectives believe they stole thousands of dollars in televisions, and DVD players.

The victims home is on Scott's Drive.

Police think they have broken up the high end burglary ring.

That took some courage, to turn in your own child. She and her son will be in my prayers.

People think it's all about how the parents bring the kids up. That's not the case. You can raise your kids the best and still they have a mind of their own. It most certainly does take courage to turn your own child in but think about this, what if they didn't. The child would continue to keep on doing it and then eventually it would most likely lead to being shot and/or even death. Let this be a lesson for them and hopefully preventing this from happening in the future.

Why would you ever say the parents turned on a child....it is the responsibilty for the parent to teach a child right from wrong...you the media has just allowed a child the right to think their parent is unjust! BS In another report your statement may be that the parents did not do their job...what the hay????

Loubtx, no one said the parents turned on a child, the headline of this story says "turns in own son." ((((Hugs))))) to the mother for stepping up and doing the right thing.

The article says the teenager was questioned and released but two adults was taken into custody. Was it the kid's parents that were arrested? Did the mother place the blame on the teenager to try and save herself? I'm not sure what is going on here.
