Orange County Man Indicted in 14-Year-Old Cold Case

An Orange County man is indicted in connection with a homicide over 14 years after police found the victim’s body.

On September 7, 1995 the body of Theresa Darlene Foskey, 28, of Bridge City was found in the Sabine River in Newton County. The victim had apparently been killed at her Mobile Home in The Bayou Shadows Trailer Park in Bridge City and her body taken to Deweyville and dumped into the river.

The Orange County Sherriff’s Office along with several other local agencies and the Texas Rangers Cold Case Unit worked on the case. The investigation continued over the last 14 years. The case was finally ready to present to the Orange County District Attorneys Office in June 2009.

A Grand Jury Wednesday handed up an indictment for Capital Murder on James “Jamie” Edward Holden, 41, of Deweyville.

An arrest warrant was signed by Judge Dennis Powell of the Orange County 163rd District Court and Holdwn was arrested in Jefferson County on Thursday.

Holden was arraigned in Jefferson County and taken to the Orange County Jail. Bond has been denied and is he is currently in the Orange County Jail.
