Southeast Texans have a number of choices for fireworks shows this year.
The city of Beaumont is planning a celebration Saturday night. Organizers will hold a Riverfront Park event with activities starting at 5 p.m. near city hall. Festivities will include food vendors, skydivers around 7 p.m. and a symphony concert at 8 p.m. Fireworks will start after the concert.
Lamar State College Port Arthur is planning its fireworks display at the college Saturday at 7 p.m.
The City of Lake Charles is making plans for its sixteenth annual Red White Blue & You July 4th Celebration. The city’s web site says the festival kicks off early with a star-spangled Parade at 6 pm. Friday. Onlookers are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of entertainment at the Lake Charles Civic Center Arcade Pavilion. The patriotic program featuring an awards ceremony, the Lake Charles Community Band, and Louisiana Choral Foundation. At 9pm a fireworks extravaganza over the lake will close the day's festivities.
In Deweyville the First Baptist Church will hold a display at the baseball field on Highway 12 ( near the rest area between Hwy 87 and Deweyville) starting around 9 p.m. Saturday. The public is invited to attend free.
The city of Orange will not have a display this year. For over 2 decades the Orange Leader Newspaper has sponsored the fireworks in Orange. Publisher Eric Bauer tells KBMT 12 news the decision not to hold the fireworks this year was a tough one.
“During the past 23 years the fireworks display has simply outgrown our capabilities and we appreciate the efforts of all of the volunteers, city and county, and of the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce.”
Bauer says the paper has worked to make sure the community knows of other shows happening in the area.

In IL (Grays Lake) fireworks display occur througout the whole week, i.e. not all the places on 4th July. This way people can enjoy several times. As I am in Texas now miss this. I wish to see the display in several places in several days ( like 3rd,4th, 5th July). Thanks
