One Worker Burned in Fire at MeadWestvaco

One man has been burned in a flash fire at the MeadWestvaco plant in Evadale.

According to Public Relations Manager Penny Sullivan, just before 3 p.m. Tuesday a flash fire in a chemical unloading area injured one employee. The victim, who has not been identified, was flown to a Houston hospital by air ambulance.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

There were no other injuries reported.

Sullivan says she will keep KBMT updated with the latest information.
