Silsbee Fireworks Set for 9 p.m. Tuesday

David Ingram

Hardin County is gearing up for a Silsbee fireworks display Tuesday night.

Silsbee and surrounding communities will gather at the Silsbee High School Parking lot for a huge fireworks display courtesy of the Texas Fireworks Company. The company has donated thousands of dollars worth of fireworks on a yearly basis to help the community celebrate Independence Day.

The Silsbee Volunteer Fire Department will oversee the fireworks display. The fireworks are scheduled to start at 9 PM.

Organizers say participants can come early and get a good seat while enjoying snacks furnished by the Silsbee Knights of Columbus #8594, Village Creek State Park Volunteers, Donna Shannon and the FCCLA students from high school, SHS band boosters, and the Silsbee Woman's Club. Available will be links, funnel cakes, drinks, popcorn, snow cones, candy, lighted necklaces and glasses, cotton candy and boudain.

A news release from the chamber of commerce says special thanks to Benny and Hazel Gardner, Jay Hinkie and the Silsbee Volunteer Fire Department, and Richard Bain, Gaye Lokey, Chuck Zeller from Silsbee ISD for their efforts to make this event possible.
