A Louisiana Newspaper says a man arrested in a double shooting is the pastor of a Lake Charles Church.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has confirmed to KBMT Barry Weldon Thomas, 49 is free on $10,500 bond following his arrest in connection with a Monday shooting. Thomas is facing two counts of illegal use of a weapon. He is also facing one count of illegal carrying of a weapon.

According to the Lake Charles American Press, Thomas is the pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Lake Charles.

Thomas was taken into custody around 1 p.m. Monday after sheriff’s deputies were called to a shooting in the 400 block of West Telephone Road in Moss Bluff. Witnesses say Thomas used a semi-automatic pistol to shoot two men at the house. The victim’s injuries are said to be non-life threatening. Both men were taken to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
