Tips for Safety in Summer Crowds

For many people summer is a time to go outside, meet up with friends, and enjoy time away from work. But it's important not to let your guard down completely and to stay safe in any situation.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy Brent Weaver joined Tracy Kennick Wednesday on the set of Good Morning Southeast Texas to offer tips about safety in a Crowd. Sandra Endo also presented self-defense tips.

Projecting confidence and being aware of your surroundings are two simple skills, which can keep you safe. Self-Defense instructor Carol Middelton says if you look like a target, you become a target. Middelton says the first thing about self-defense is establishing your boundaries. Get use to and be comfortable saying “no.”
