Teen Arrested for Burglarizing Post Office Boxes

A Jefferson County teen is in juvenile custody after police say he broke in to several post office boxes at the Groves Post Office.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, June 08, 2009 Groves Police Officer Dane Hollier said he caught a teen, 16, in the process of breaking into the post office boxes. Officer Hollier says in all, 9 post office boxes had been opened and several thousand dollars worth of checks were taken. A number of credit cards were stolen as well.

The teen was booked into the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Correctional Facility.

The case remains under investigation.
