Indictment Returned in Fatal Vinton Crash

David Ingram

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - A Calcasieu Parish, La., grand jury has indicted a motorist accused of driving drunk when he was involved in a crash that killed his brother.

Thirty-six-year-old Daniel Pena of Port Arthur, Texas, was indicted Thursday on charges of vehicular homicide, second-offense drunken driving and careless operation of a vehicle.

The indictments stem from the June 24, 2008, death of Juan M. Pena. He was partly ejected after the vehicle his brother was driving hit a railroad crossing signal at La. Highway 108 and U.S. 90 in Vinton, La.
