LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - A 10-year prison term has been imposed on a former Calcasieu Parish sheriff's deputy who pleaded guilty in January to a charge of aggravated incest.

State Judge Kent Savoile sentenced James R. Everett of Sulphur on Wednesday'

Everett was fired as a deputy when he was arrested in March 2005.

In July 2005, Everett was indicted on one count each of aggravated rape and molestation of a juvenile and three counts of sexual battery.

Prosecutor Sharon Darville Wilson in January amended the three counts of sexual battery into one count of aggravated incest and dismissed the remaining charges.

This is not the first or the last deputy to be charged with this type of crime!! I know for a fact that there has been at least 2 others that have comitted a similar sex crime. What happened to the polygraph test these fools have to take. I guess they can be beaten. Mancuso is a big dissapointment to the people of west calcasieu parish. He wont get my vote again.

I agree with a death penalty for predators and child molesters. Just wondering why some people who are on sex offender registry do not have to wear bracelet anymore. I know someone in Lake Charles who doesn’t have to wear bracelet, walk freely and working where children around. Yes, they have to go to counseling every month and report to probation officer but why no bracelet. I agree if people on sex offender registry have to wear bracelet.

I think a death penalty should be imposed on child molestors. It wouldn't do for me to be in office because I don't believe in leaving them in jail, spending tax payers money. Death means death. Sentences should be imposed within one month of sentencing!
