Man in Motorized Wheelchair Arrested for Burglary, Theft and Trespassing

News KBMT

A 68-year-old Moss Bluff man was arrested and charged last week for burglary, theft and trespassing after witnesses saw him in a wheelchair taking property from another house.

Calcasieu Parish authorities say Kenneth P. Richard was seen entering a home in Moss Bluff and leaving again with several items on both April 17 and 18. The home was reportedly unoccupied since 2005.

Authorities searched Richard's house which was located a few blocks from the home. They say they found 2 vacuum cleaners, a step ladder, a CD changer, and a turntable that were all stolen from the house.

Richard's bond was set at $21,000.
