It seems everyone in Orangefield knows the parties involved, and everyone has a different way to cope. To know that she did this is heartbreaking, but the family, and the girl involved, has a huge support group back home. Let's realize that this is a tragedy for everyone, especially the family and the girl. Send out your prayers for all of them.

I agree with Resident. Why wasn't she charged as a parent. If she was a foster parent, in the process of adopting, this should be treated as a case of incest, not teacher-student. Also, does anyone know if the girl was actually in her class or on one of her teams? If she was, then she should have been charged as both a parent abusing their child AND teacher abusing a student. if the girl wasn't in her class or on her team, then the whole teacher issue is moot.

Big Daddy, you're an idiot. First of all, not all homosexuals molest, want to molest, or would ever molest a child. Most gay people are just as disgusted by this behavior as are straights. Secondly, how would asking orientation have helped here? Jennifer was straight, married with children. Just because someone says they're straight doesn't mean they're not secretly gay, or that at some point they might become involved in a same-sex relationship.

I am surprised at the way this woman was charged, as an educator in innappropriate relationship with a student. This student was the coach's foster daughter(I am told they were also in the process of adopting her), the relations took place in their home, not really related to the school environment at all. Is it easier to charge her with a crime as an educator and not as a parent molesting their child? If so, that is a real shame.

It seems appropriate that school districts would ask an employees sexuality before hiring an employee that is going to be in the locker room with students. Would you want your son in the locker room while a Homosexual male is monitoring him. There is no difference between a hetero male or a homosexual female being in the locker room with a bunch of girls. If it invades their privacy, then i assume protecting students doesnt mean much. Shool Districts need to get with the 21st Century of Gayism

It's obvious school districts need to ask coaches their sexual preference before they hire them for a postition where they will be in the locker room with students. Since there seems to be so many homosexual coaches out there what's the difference in a male monitoring a female locker room. THEIR ISN'T A DIFFERENCE. Would you want a homosexual male looking at your boy child in the dressing room. School Districts need to get with the program in the 21st Century of Gayism!!!!!!

I am so tired of people that make the rest of us teachers/coaches look bad. There are no excuses. It is wrong, period. There is nothing anyone can say to justify these actions. Everyone knows right from wrong, even a 2 year old. This woman chose to be selfish and take advantage of a young girl, knowing the consequences. Take your punishment and let everyone move on and try to get over this injustice.

Why does kbmt think indictments that spell out sexually deviant behavior "newsworthy"? Does kbmt take no responsibility in protecting the innocent? Have we forgotten that there are 3 children involved in this tragedy? OF is a small community, why does kbmt want to publicize such perverse details for immature minds to digest? Channel 12's sensationalizing details with no thought of the harm to the innocent will cost them viewers. Hopefully, it will cost them sponsors as well.

I have known the adult since 5th grade.I have been friends with both she and her family for years. I have not read the indictment, though I know what it contains. I am sickened by her actions and the repercussions that await all involved. Her husband, their children, and the young lady involved. I take no joy in seeing people fall. I make no excuse for the Jennifer's actions but rather than spew forth condemnation, perhaps we should say a prayer for all of them.

As far as this world getting worse and worse, I'm just glad that this problem has come to light. 30 years ago, people would have just turned their heads. There were no laws to protect these children like there is now. These things happened all the time, believe me I know, and the kids were too embarrassed or ashamed to say anything. Thanks to new laws the children are more likely to come foreward and tell. As far as the child lying, some people think ignorance is bliss, but not for the victim.

As adults we should guide our teenagers in the right direction. What good is it that we teach our kids sex education if the onnes teching it is engaging in sexual relations with them. Should we be educating our teachers on boundries and how to handle teens experiencing change in their bodies? We are here to protect our children, how are we to protect them if the ones we trust is irresponsible? The schools name is being slandered now due to one "Adult" who proved to be an unsuitable teacher.

To Obbop... The International Classification of Health defines pedophilia as a sexual preference for children, boys or girls,of prepubertal or early pubertal age. In law enforcement, the term"pedophile"is used to describe those accused or convicted of the sexual abuse of a minor including both prepubescent children and adolescent minors younger than the local age of consent. The term pedophile is used to describe all child sexual abuse offenders, even those who do not meet the clinical diagnosis.

To Obbop: Lets not parse words and definitions. A teenager is still considered a child in most respects. If a 14 or 15 year old girl with a hot body went out of her way to try to seduce me, a 48 year old man...Yes, I would naturally be affected by her grown look. But a RESPONSIBLE adult wouldn't give in to temptation. If I did so, as an adult, the ensuing sexual activity would be solely my responsibility. I would still be a child molester. Again, it's about the child's mind, not her body.

Sigh..... Listen up, people. Pedophile is the desire of activity or actual hands-on experience with a PRE-PUBESCENT child. There is a small "gray area" but, once the child has commenced puberty, especially when those secondary sexual characteristics become apparent and certain biological functions commence, pedophile is the wrong term to be used. It is extremely doubtful a 15-year-old female has not entered puberty so the teacher is NOT a pedophile.

Edukashun, Obviously, you have no idea about Orange county, or how important education is at Orangefield. Orange County does not stand behind her actions, but we will always stand behind our schools!

It is time that this country came to understand that females can be Pedophiles, males do not hold this title alone. If this had been a 15 Y.O child and a man, then some would say it was a worse crime, News flash, they are all Bad crimes. My complaint is why parents dress their child up like the child is 20 Y.O, then get upset when a preditor pays them attention. What are you drawing to your child? I have met a lot of good, kind, people, and who knows what lurks inside their mind.

Obviously, education is not important in Orange County. Reading many of your comments, it is clear that your education system failed you. Basic spelling and grammar is not that tough. I wonder if this teacher would be treated less harshly if the student was male. If we are created in God's image, then gay and lesbian people are also a part of God's image. Or, is it easier to pick and choose what to believe from the bible out of convenience and your lack of tolerance & acceptance?

I want to know who could read that indictment with the details of what happened, and not be sickened and outraged by the actions of this child predator. I wonder about those who have this so called respect for this woman would feel had this been there child. No one should be impressed by her character or so called great coaching. She had ulterior motives and those who do usually put up the biggest front. Those who are still impressed by her need to examine their own morals.

If a CHILD has adult body parts it doesn't mean she should carry adult responsibility. Some are unable see beyond the CHILDs budding sexuality to give deference to the fragile/trusting mind within. If allegations are true, this was no "mistake". It was a calculated crime committed for the sole purpose of sexual gratification. Question for the molester: Was the sex worth the pain and harm it caused your victim, her family, your family, and the school community that placed their trust in you?

Some of making excuses for her are sickening. Sure, she might be innocent. But there is no excuse for a 39 year old teacher/coach to have relations with a 15 year old. IF she did, she is scum. Stop with the "Oh, I know her and her family this is a bump in the road for her and wasn't intentional." She is accused of having sex with a 15 year old. A girl young enough to be her own daughter. THAT IS DESPICABLE.
Friday, Apr 10 at 10:31 AM Observer wrote ...
Innocent until proven guilty is a legal standard not applicable to the court of public opinion. The public has no obligation to avoid discussion on the alleged crime out of some warped sense of respect for the offender or her family. This woman should have thought about the public anguish she would inflict upon her family by her actions before she made the decision to molest this child. And to those who would cast blame on a molested child....you need to shed your uneducated hillbilly thinking.

No one has that right save God and the judge overseeing her trial. I would advise the community to keep its chin up and show some class by putting an end to the dramatic rumors that are circulating. What I have trouble comprehending is how she could risk everything (her husband, children, career, reputation) for the "love" of a 14 year old CHILD. Something is definitely wrong with this situation and how often it's happening. She OBVIOUSLY needs professional help because that is not normal or healthy. I feel for her own children and the child involved and will keep them in my prayers. Her possible conviction will never take away the pain she's caused so many but it is justly deserved.
