AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Reading, writing, arithmetic and… reefer?? Police say that's what one Manor High School student had on his mind Wednesday, March 4, 2009.
According to an arrest warrant made public Friday, the Travis County Sheriffs Office arrested Chancellor Terrell Buie, 17, and his 19 year old brother Ledarius after a classmate said Ledarius offered to sell her some marijuana in her 4th period class.
The girl didn't want to buy any of Buies drugs, and took his proposition straight to school administrators.
The girl originally thought Chancellor was the name of the Buie brother who offered to sell her the drugs, but when administrators searched him, all they found was three Darvocet pills, but no pot. Darvocet, by the way, is still illegal to have without a prescription. Its a narcotic similar to methadone that's usually taken orally, crushed and snorted, or mixed with water and injected with a needle.
Officials then brought in Ledarius. It was then cops say they found 15.7 grams of pot conveniently divvied up into little baggies for resale.
Both brothers were taken into custody for possession of controlled substances in a drug free zone. Both are out after posting $2,000 bond
Possession of controlled substances in a drug free zone is a state jail felony punishable by up to two years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000.
