Hurricane Season officially ended Sunday, November 30 but the recovery from Hurricane Ike is still ongoing.
For one Southeast Texas city residents feel like recovery has barely started and they say it's due to a slow response from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Oak Island was hit hard by Hurricane Ike and still looks like a war zone. It's a small coastal community in Chambers County south of Anahauc. Ike destroyed at least 350 homes there.
In a recent community newspaper article the managing editor of "The Progress" wrote a very critical article about FEMA's response.
Theresa Barrett says there's been little temporary housing from FEMA and Oak Island residents have not been treated with respect by FEMA.
KBMT 12 News talked to Barrett and an Oak Island resident Sunday, November 30 about their concerns months after Hurricane Ike.
