Retailers are Hopeful That Busy Black Friday is a Sign of the Season

Some retailers say they are still getting pretty good business even though the core shopping days are over for the Holiday season.

According to reports retailers who worried shoppers may pull back
sharply this Christmas Season got a hopeful sign the so-called "black friday," November 28, was stronger than last year, with sales up almost three per cent.

However it's not necessarily a predictor for the whole season.

Southeast Texas retailers say Black Friday lifted a dark cloud that was hanging over some businesses suffering due to the slumping economy.
