What I'm wondering is, where is analog NBC for the Beaumont area? I'm a Time Warner customer and I just want to know where regular NBC went? I can't miss Heroes when it comes back in February!!! :)

Fox has moved to Channel 4 on Dish and NBC has moved to Channel 64 on Dish. Guess it is logical that they just swapped. By the way,,, I personally have Directv, but contacted Dish for my elderly parents. I was somewhat thrilled to see that the customer service was just as crappy as Directv's.

I live in Village Mills and a Dish Customer. Apparently Dish or Channel 12 dropped the ball and Dish Customers are not receiving your NBC broadcasts. What is the deal and please get on the stick and get it started. Thanks PS: I have an antenna. If I hook it up through a converter box would I receive the NBC signal on my analog TV? PLease advise FROM KBMT: Dish Network is still working on where they will place the NBC signal. You will be able to recieve NBC programming from your antenna on 12.2. ABC High-def will be available on 12.1

As far as TWC goes, KBMT is going to revert to channel 12 from channel 50 after the end of analog broadcasting, and I believe that is the reason that KBMT was not carried on the digital cable in HD, they are waiting until they get their final DTV facilities built before they make the connection to Time Warner. In the meantime, put up an antenna, and enjoy the HD programming for free over the air...

KBMT has been broadcasting HD OTA for a while now. Two 720 HD channels is very doable. KALB in Alexandria, La. has been broadcasting NBC in 720 on virtual 5.1 and CBS in 720 on 5.2. KFDM has been broadcasting CBS in 1080 HD and the CW in 480. Bandwidth is not a problem. KALBs picture quality is very good.

Bandwidth will not be an issue because the FCC provides for adequate bandwidth for all the subchannels offered by a station. The big question is Time Warner. I think every cable customer should complain to Time Warner until Time Warner carries EVERY local channel broadcasting network programming in high definition. SE Texas will never be on a level on par with other cities as long as Time Warner does not include in their lineup ALL local channels broadcasting in high definition.

What about daytime programing i.e. soaps? Will we have to purchase yet another channel for that?

Will Ch. 12 work things out with Time Warner Cable to begin broadcasting in HD for ABC and NBC?

I didn't even know that kbmt broadcasted in HD. I have cable and have not found it anywhere. I've even run the channel search on my hd television and have come up with nothing.

How much bandwidth will this rob from digital 12.1? It will be great to finally have a local HD NBC station, but I hope it does not take away from the main ABC picture quality. I would rather have one great HD channel than two poor ones.
