Orange County Fugitive Found in Wyoming

Sheriff’s Office awaiting extradition of man charged in wife’s death

News KBMT

An Orange County man who fled rather than face a court date in connection with his wife's death is in custody.

Myra Croaker with the Orange County Sheriff's Office has confirmed 41-year-old Timothy Michael was arrested in Cheyenne, Wyoming Monday night.

Michael is charged in the 2006 shooting death of his wife Theresa Doucet Michael. The shooting took place at the couple’s home on Kyle Road in Orangefield. Mr. Michael has been out on a $25,000 bond since his arrest on involuntary manslaughter charges. He was supposed to appear before 260th State District Judge Buddy Hahn Friday for a pre-trial hearing. Family members contacted KBMT after he failed to appear in court.

Judge Hahn revoked Michael’s bond on the manslaughter charge and issued an arrest warrant.

The Orange County Sheriff's office is awaiting extradition. As of 11:00 a.m. Tuesday deputies did not know when Michael would be back in Texas.
