Full Press Release from Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Texas:

Now is the time for eligible individuals to schedule an appointment for assistance in enrolling in Medicare's Prescription Drug Program (Part D). This enrollment period starts on November 15 and will end on December 31, 2008. It is important that eligible individuals enroll during this time period.

The enrollment process does not have to be overwhelming - free assistance is available!

The Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Texas' Benefits Counseling program (a division of the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission) provides FREE counseling services to seniors (60 years of age or older) and disabled individuals on Medicare of any age who reside in Hardin, Jefferson, and Orange Counties. Those needing assistance in understanding their benefits may find out more information about the Benefits Counseling Program by dialing 2-1-1 (Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:45 pm).

As this enrollment period is brief, the Benefits Counseling program will be offering assistance through scheduled phone appointments. The program will not be able to assist "walk-in" individuals. Appointment times will be limited, so those needing assistance are encouraged to dial 2-1-1 (Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:45 pm) to schedule an appointment as soon as possible.

Mr Rupp, Thank you for letting seniors know about the up coming enrollment period for Medicare Part D. No doubt you have heard about the difficulties that seniors have in finding/changing Part D plans. I work with a company that has tried to make this easier. Our website is www.medicaresaver.com. If you have a moment we would like to invite you take a look and see how easy it is for seniors to use. We are unbiased and strive only to help seniors make solid Part D decisions. Thanks again!
