Bolivar Ferry Operations Resume for Emergency & First Responders

First Ferry Departed 7 a.m. Friday

News KBMT

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) resumed Bolivar Ferry operations for emergency and first responders on Friday, October 10th. Daily hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the last departure leaving Bolivar at 5:30 p.m.

TxDOT crews will regularly assess tide tables and on days that negative tides are predicted the state will temporarily suspend ferry operations. TxDOT says it will make every effort to identify those days in advance and notify the public.

I hope the general public do not give txdot any problems and read that the ferry service is only for emergency and first responders, am guessing that includes police, DPS too. Galveston is not quite ready for gawkers yet although Hotel Galvez due to open soon. Those leaving shelters may need these rooms first?
