Deep tropical moisture just offshore from Southeast Texas today so about half the area seeing rainfall.
Models continue to increase moisture levels a bit into the 4th...so we forecast a fifty percent coverage of showers and thunderstorms, but the rains should be over by 9 PM.
Deep moisture hugs the coast through the weekend, so little change is expected through Sunday.
Tropical Depression # 2 has formed in the Far Eastern Atlantic is showing signs of strengthening and may become Tropical Storm Bertha later today...climatelogically, this is not a normal hot spot for tropical development for July.
Model data takes the system over the next five days on a west-northwest track and then curves it into the open Central Atlantic as southwesterly shear over the Caribbean turns the storm.
