BEAUMONT – TEMPERATURES HOVERING NEAR THE CENTURY MARK HAVE CAUSED OUR RECENT DONATION OF FANS FROM ENTERGY TEXAS TO BE NEARLY DEPLETED.
With the rising costs of utilities, food and gas, many senior citizens cannot afford to run their A/C units during the day and that can cause major health problems. Each year the Salvation Army distributes free fans to the elderly and those with medical conditions thanks to a generous contribution from Entergy Texas. That supply is very low and the summer has just begun.
The Salvation Army Corps in Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange are urging the community to
help keep our senior citizens cool this summer by donating NEW box, tower or table fans to their local Salvation Army. “We hope to keep the program open through the middle of August,” says spokeswoman Judy Kelfstrom. “However, without the continued help from our neighbors in each community the fans on hand will be gone within the next week or two.”
Drop off locations for new fans only:
In Beaumont 1490 North 7th Street
In Orange 1950 MLK Drive
In Port Arthur 3145 25th Street
