Elder Abuse Prevention Month Recognized in Beaumont

Brian Burns

They're forced to lean on others for their care and its that kind of vulnerability which could hurt their well-being.

Many victims of abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation depend on others for their care and this makes them susceptible to abuse or neglectful treatment.

Some may live in unsanitary conditions without heat or running water.

Others may be physically abused, or have their money stolen.

Caseworkers for Adult Protective Services work to eliminate abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

To report abuse, call 1-800-252-5400 and you can visit Adult Protective Services on line at www.txabusehotline.org.
